Women’s Reproductive Rights
RepoRising Virginia is an organization dedicated to promoting pro-choice options for Virginians. Through volunteer work and activism, RepoRising works to elect pro-choice officials, while providing support and care to women throughout the commonwealth.
Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia
Planned Parenthood is a well-known American institution for women’s reproductive health and family planning. This organization has locations all around the country, as well as six locations throughout Virginia.
LGBTQIA+
Side by Side works to promote community and care for LGBTQIA+ youth. This organization provides mental health services, support groups, housing, and more for queer youth in need. Side by Side supports the Richmond area and heavily relies on volunteer work.
The LGBT Life Center serves the Hampton Roads area by providing a safe space and other programs for LGBTQIA+ Virginians. Much of this program is run by volunteers for various events, and they are always looking for new help.
Housing and Poverty
Circles RVA works to solve poverty at the local level. Serving the Richmond area, Circles aids families in their move away from poverty by removing systemic barriers and building community.
Volunteers are the backbone of this organization and are always needed.
Climate Change
Virginia’s varying ecosystems, from the coast to the mountains, make it even more important to protect the sanctity of natural areas. If you’d like to help the environment firsthand through cleanups and other conservation efforts, The Nature Conservancy is always looking for volunteers.
Citizens’ Climate Lobby Virginia
Looking to help climate change at a government level? Virginia’s Citizens’ Climate Lobby aims to fight climate change by working with politicians throughout the state. This lobby uses volunteer work in much of its efforts, so consider joining in their fight.
