Virginia’s governor is joining other Republican governors from around the country for a visit with the president-elect.

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin will join other Republican governors tonight for a dinner with President-elect Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago in Florida.

Youngkin spent the morning in Washington at the funeral for former president Jimmy Carter.

While Youngkin did not fully embrace Trump on the campaign trail when he ran for governor in 2021, more recently Youngkin has been a vocal supporter of Trump.

Youngkin appeared at a rally with Trump in Virginia in November and has championed Trump’s policies on cable television.

Youngkin’s visit with Trump comes as he enters the final year of his term as governor. The Virginia constitution prevents governor’s from running for re-election and it’s unclear what Youngkin may do next.
