Election Day in Virginia began with little to no issues, according to the state’s Department of Elections. 

A local judge ruled yesterday that Waynesboro election officials need to certify the votes in the election this year and allow the votes of local voters to count. 

Local election workers in Pittsylvania County are trying to reach voters to address issues with their absentee ballots before a Friday deadline.

Early voting surged in its final days in Virginia as all eyes – including those of federal civil rights attorneys – turn to Election Day tomorrow.

Republican election officials are threatening not to certify the election results in Waynesboro unless the ballots are hand-counted.

While Virginia will likely have the unofficial results for many races the night of Election Day, it will take about a month for local and state officials to certify the election.
