How the "mother of states" treats women
Women make up 51% of the population in Virginia, but only 26.4% of the General Assembly. With that disparity in mind, we decided to take a look at how the laws passed (or not passed) by a predominantly-male, Republican-led General Assembly have affected women in Virginia.
