84 members of the Virginia House of Delegates, Democrats and Republicans, rejected Governor Glenn Youngkin’s amendments to the Right to Contraception. This bill aimed to increase contraceptive access by eliminating certain copays, cost-sharing requirements, reimbursement requirements, and coverage delays.

Youngkin’s amendments would ensure that non-governmental plan sponsors with sincerely held religious or moral beliefs would not be obligated to provide insurance coverage for contraception, as per existing federal and state law.
