Virginia public employees are currently prohibited from engaging in collective bargaining, but bills were introduced by Sen. Jennifer Boysko and Del. Kathy Tran to repeal this ban. However, Gov. Glenn Youngkin has already expressed his intention to veto any legislation that permits Virginia workers to engage in collective bargaining. Earlier this year, Youngkin stated, “Please don’t present me with a bill that affects the right of Virginians to work, as it will be met with the business end of my veto pen.”
